Modern Art - a rendezvous in Paris
Categories : Exhibitions and Museums, published on : 9/4/17
The Parisian autumn and winter will be marked by an exceptional event, the "Be Modern: the MoMA in Paris" exhibition at the Louis Vuitton Foundation. Discover the wonders of the New York Museum of Modern Art in the unique setting of the Foundation from October 11, 2017 to March 5, 2018. Come discover over 200 works from the MoMa during your stay at the Chess Hotel.
An original museum outing
The "Be modern: the MoMA in Paris" exhibition is your chance to see works that have rarely, or even never, been shown in Paris. Pieces by Cézanne, Duchamp, Magritte, Picasso, Pollock and Hopper are among the two hundred works that will make the journey across the Atlantic – along with Andy Warhol's famous soup cans. The two museums, MoMA and the Louis Vuitton Foundation, have organised the exhibition jointly and aim to take you on a journey back through time that reflects on the art of the Museum of Modern Art since it was founded in 1929. It's an exhibition that questions contemporary art and modernity in general.
An exceptional setting
A visit to the Louis Vuitton Foundation is always an outstanding experience. Firstly, it allows you to admire the architecture and the overall lightness of the building that was designed by Frank Gehry. Secondly, it's located in a particularly pleasant district of the capital in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, a paradise for children where you can enjoy the calm and relaxing atmosphere of the Jardin d'Acclimatation with its quiet riding paths and freshwater ponds. And, of course, the Chess Hotel staff is on hand to help arrange your outing and your visit to the Louis Vuitton Foundation.
The MoMA embarks on its conquest of Paris! An event that you won't want to miss!
